Thinking of ordering the Bitubo shock, since it's such a sweet deal....but was looking for opinions/reviews on install and performance first.

Anyone have pictures of it installed... I saw the pictures of the rear sub fram lifted out the way....that's pretty good idea to ease installation. Just wondering what other issues you run into, and where did everyone else mount the reservoir, does it come with mounts or everyone using hose clamps? :confused

check the "frequent Mods" section..... I think burncycle posted up some pics (not sure if it was him?) Yes, the remote resevior comes with a bracket and Bitubo recommends the spot to which it mounts. I think most everyone follows their recommendation, however, there may be a few out there who mounted it somewhere else (damn commies:rant ). Get the shock, you won't regret it:hail

Comes with everything you need, and it really is not that difficult to do. I read some post where it took multiple hours, which worried me before I jumped in to the project. Expecting the worse, it really was quite painless. I did not remove the subframe, I lifted the rearend by the subframe. I will post some pics a little later, I need to buy a memory stick for the new digital camera.:devious

From the reports its not a good idea to mount the reservoir anywhere else as the mount also acts as a spacer...so without it you may run the risk of breaking something.

I believe the TLR is an easier job. Mounting one on a TLS is a kind of a pain in the ass. Just my experience.

The Tls install is quite a pain in the ass ,Expect to put kinks in the braided Line going to the reservoir. Make sure you take out the engine spacer first. I learned that the hard way...

I can't access none of the pictures in the thread started by chats. I will be doing this also soon. Tryign to find all the threads related so i do it right.

yes, buy it, you wont regret it. The installation process is getting easier as more of us here on the planet post the tips an tricks to getting it done nicely. Also if you have a FULL RACE system, your gonna have to remove the lower collection pipe to allow the swingarm to "fall" low enough to allow room for the shock to fit to through the "hole". wrap it in bubble wrap to help keep from scratching up the paint on the spring too. or plastic garbage bag you can easily remove once you have it in it's space. dont be hurried, this is a project where being patient pays off. I too kinked my hose, cuz i tried to fit everything with out first removing the engine spacer. Once i took it out all went smoothly. To put the spacer back in, i first placed it with my fingers, then used the skinny end of my wooden ball peen hammer to "force" it into place, then used a #2 phillips (crafstsman) to center the spacer in alilgnment with the threads for the bolt to go through the frame into the cylinder. Thats the thread on my install...the single most time consuming part for me was getting the engine spacer back in after removing it.

My advice would be to wedge a block of wood or something between the engine and frame before you remove the spacer. That way it'll stop it moving and make it easier to put the spacer back in. I should of realised that if I had to tap it out cause it was tight then getting it in would be even harder.

I just filed off a few thousands of an inch off the spacer ,it was still tight but It went in a lot easier.
