:thumbup I always wanted to learn how to work sheet metal - still plan too sooner or later (determined to build an airplane...)
I've Spent too long watching American Chopper :laugh

We have a roller at work but won't roll smaller than 4" Dia :banghead

Up to 230mm wide and 1mm alloy and 0.5mm steel

Or we could just make triples with 54mm bottoms and 209 centers and eliminate the shims and spacers.
or even just the bottom triple in TLS or TLR lock stop configuration for the sake of 2 disc shims :devious

I am lazy, I have forks, triples, Brembo calipers and front rim off a 2001 RSV, what do I need to put it on the TLR.
A measuring stick cos I'm too lazy to go find an RSV just to tell you what you have in front of you :coocoo:laugh

:hail Great stuff Sam! Super helpfull!
I'm with racrboy and vandriver on the no spacers. I mounted a compete '03 GSX-R front incl wheels on my TLR. Just needed to press the stem (too short) out and press in the TLR stem into the bottom yoke and cut the stops off. Then I had a top triple machined so I could use the TLR ignition and steering lock, I fabricated other stops on there out of aluminum blocks and bolted them on.

Maybe for some people it might be usefull if eventually some simple drawings of what's actually measured can be added. This would imho clear up a lot.

Anyone know what SRAD lower triple diameter is?
I've seen a couple of conflicts at both 54 & 55mm

I think they're 54 :confused

I've updated the chart again with what little Hayabusa 08 info I can find. Anymore help would be greatly appreciated :banghead

I've also updated some of the measurements after I fitted a TL wheel in the K5/6 GSXR1000 forks/yokes and added an 3rd example below the chart.

I'll also make a Sticky thread in the frequent mods section to make it more accessable :thumbup

Hyabusa Controls?

While searching for left hand controls for my 97 TLS, I found one from a 2002 Hyabusa. The only differance is the Busa has a yellow passing button and one extra pin in the plug. The plug itself is yellow and is the same shape as the TLS plug.

Tried it out and everything works fine, even the passing button which flashes the hi-beams when pressed.

Hope this helps!

I meant Hayabusa Forks but I'm sure it will come in handy for somebody :laugh

Anyone by chance have any info on the K9 1000 forks? They look Very shmick :drool

I've just measured the GSXR's 2005 forks length and I put it in the chart.
Thankyou, I've updated my master and will update the image at some point :laugh

They do look very nice, hopefully the feet are similar or else all the spacings will change :banghead

Is that fork spacing at wheel spindle clamps inside of the forks? So tls stock axle spacer is 169 - 136,5 = 32,5 and when I put k8 gsxr forks in to tls triples forks spacing is 214 - 207 = 7 , 7 + 153,5 = 160,5mm. Am I correct? Then i'll need 160,5 - 136,5 = 24 mm axle spacer. I would like to make spacers ready before machining bottom yoke.

PS. I'm using busa axle.

Showa GSXR 600 K5 forks to TLR

Only done some initial measurements but it looks like this to me anyway.

Big sketch:

Only mod for wheel centring so far is to shave 0.75mm off the stock TLR spacer shoulder to lengthen the spacer to 58.75mm.

Still waiting on '05 R1 calipers for centring the discs and caliper offsets. Damn posty has both my PC3 and calipers!! :banghead

Oops, scrap that. Looks like its OK stock +/- 0.25mm, the distance between the forks changed when I tightened the triples :blush I was half way thought the job last night a little drunk at 1am :)

Will know exactly whats what when the calipers arrive :(

Here's something else that might compliment the original chart - this is the dimensional info for rotors; so you know what rotors fit what wheels.

Note that there are subtle differences beteen GSXR 1000, TLS, TLR & 'Busa rotors - such as colour, # of spokes etc but they all have the same fitment.

Also recognize that the wheels for TLS, TLR & Hayabusa are 7mm wider between bearings vs the GSXR wheels, and their rotor hubs are 2mm wider for rotor center - spacer spacing of 134 vs 132 for the GSXR wheels.

Hope this is helpful
