Does anyone in Melbourne have Yoshi Headers or any aftermarket headers fitted to a TLS with stock or Yoshi Bolt ons. (full kit and caboodle other than cans)

Got another project going!!

Full systems don't use bolts on's. They use slip ons. Only the OEM system uses the bolt on flange. ;)

(Although there are some slip on to bolt on adapters out there so you can put bolt on cans on your full system, N2Wheelies made a few up and sold them in the market place.).

Thanks Steve
I am looking at having a set of headers manufactured that is the same design as the Yoshi full system but can be bolted on to the Yoshi Bolt ons that a lot of us have on our bikes.
It seems to have been established by a number of the threads here that a good set of stainless steel headers (with or without ceramic coating) can provide some advantage performance wise and everyone knows that the TLS headers look like S*#T. Seems that it may improve the growl too.
I have someone who makes custom pipes and headers for classic and classic sports bikes and cars and is interested in gauging TL owners interest in making up quality headers in polished SS or Ceramic Coatings.
Given that Yoshi's are one of the most popular bolt ons, copying the Yoshi headers from motor to bolt ons seems reasonably logical.
Maybe I should start a Poll to see which bolt on are most common and who uses the OEM headers in conjuction with them.

Bolt ons are bolt ons. Doesn't matter if they're M4, Yosh, D&D, Megacycle etc, etc, if they're bolt ons they all fit the OEM system so the end that bolts to the exhaust system is the same pattern no matter who the manufacturer is.

If it's an aftermarket system that you're looking at getting manufactured that suites Yosh bolt ons that bolt onto the OEM system, there is no reason that any of the other cans wont bolt on.

If they bolt on, they bolt onto the OEM system - the OEM system is the same for any TLS regardless of whatever aftermarket cans that are bolted onto it.

Yep, I get that, but the thread is about the headers and I am looking for someone who has a set of headers (bolt on or otherwise) that look good, perform well and are simple to install given the limitations of the TLS design.
Yoshi's seem the most common (IMHO) and therefore am looking to match there header design.
If the example is a full system, doesn't really matter as a standard "bolt on" plate and standard connecting angle will be fabricated.
Its the bit from engine to the bolt ons that I am keen to find and duplicate.

Gotcha now. (Except it wont be a bolt on aftermarket system, only the OEM is bolt on).

(You can polish the TLS OEM system up. It's a stainless setup under that black paint).

I don't have a system, but I have pictures.

Yosh would be good to copy as they always do their homework when it comes to headers! I have read somewhere that its not always advantageous to go really big with headers unles you increase the size of your valves to match or you may end up loosing power ???
Makes sense! My full ti literally tranformed the sv , low down it kicks arse!

OK Great pics thanks Steve....so here is the project.
Make up a set of Yoshi style full system headers that have bolt plates on the end rather than slip ons.
Means that me and people like me who want better than OEM in look and performance can simply unbolt (relative term for TLS) and replace with the Custom set and bolt striaght on to the cans (whatever they may be). Obviously a good tune to suit would be recommended.
Will be SS and can have Ceramic Coating for extra bling and some added performance apparently.
Question is, what would the headers cost compared to how much people are prepared to pay.
Let me know what a REALISTIC buy price would be for such an item in SS finish similar to the M4 and Yoshi pics???
Thanks

Another option would be to use the TLR headers. You just need to move the Oil Cooler forward I think. Many have done this.
