I bought one and it is a pretty good looking set. I had a Philips 37" LCD that shit the bed and I returned it and got the Vizio, same size, same everything. The only thing I don't like about it, the speaker is on the bottom, whereas most tv's have a speaker on both sides. It actually is way louder than the Philips. It has just as many inputs and a side input; that is where the PS2 goes. Damn near as good a picture as the Sony Bravia. Definitely worth the money. I am thinking about getting the 26" Vizio for my bedroom.

...that's a 720p resolution TV so the price is only ok - if it was a 1080p it would be fantastic...

Damn you Del, got me thinking of TV's a couple weeks ago :)banghead) and just the other day this beauty went on sale ($2499 total including the matching stand (another $400) for free) so I just picked up this JVC 61 inch full 1080p HD TV and set her up yesterday:)...

...all makes of TV's are going this way to make a smaller profile for the cabinet so you can focus on the picture of the set vs the speakers hanging off the sides....

...also every major maker is not producing plasma TV's any more due to the reliability problems they have... go with LCD projection or an LCD flat pannel...

JVC's have some nice sets out now for sure! Del, that's a pretty new brand name TV to the market... The ones I've seen in cust. homes have been okay at best. If you're going to get a HD TV, go for SONY! Hands down the best digital and HD pictures I've seen! Hell, their digital sets put 60% of HD sets down easily!

BTW, remember who I am...

...I was comparing my new TV to the new model Sony SXBR 1080p set and a blue ray disk was running to both sets side by side...you can see what my decission was - totally happy with it and getting it here in Japan on base JVC will replace any componet (including the lamp) even if the warrenty runs out as long as I'm stationed here...now that's customer service:thumbup

Vizio is a good set but the reason for the dirt price is that they use the same chip panasonic used 3 years ago.. so its a new TV with old technology.. kinda like goin to the dealer and buyiong a brand new zero millage 2003 TLR right now.. but again cant go wrong for the price.. oh and ur gonna flip out and hopfully not refracture ur hip again when u hook up ur 360 to it.. its gonna look sawwweeettt.. and the other reason for the speakers on bottom is that most people right now.. including MIO has surround sound 7.1 dolby digital speakers so u never use ur TV speakers.. my TV is a 43 LCD panasonic 1080i HDTV.. but right now they have the 1080P which is true highdef while the 1080i is just interlaced from 720P.. but if u end up getting it, porn is gonna look great on it..:lol

Depending on the size 1080 will be unnoticable anyway unless you get a fairly large tv and then the 1080 will let it be clear if you want to sit 12 inches away from a 60in tv, not to mention there's really not that much 1080p stuff now anyway, at least not if you watch television and not alot of dvd's and internet movies made in 1080p. lcd=:no especially on large screens, some loose pixels, side viewing angle is garbage, and just not a very real image to me? from all my research and purchase, plasma is where it's still at, and burn in is really an non-issue anymore. Pioneer plasma...phenominal, panasonic plasma...good 2nd for the price difference, I went for the HP Plasma...looked as good as the panasonic to me and had the black trim around the sides. Make sure you watch the tv of your choice in standard definition as well as hi-def, because many of the screens I saw, including the sony sxrd, looked pretty good in hi-def, but when in standard turned to poo. I'd wait untill you can buy what YOU want, not what your wallet can afford right now just to say you have a "flat screen" or whatever.

but this could go on and on forever, just like ford and chevrolet, or TLS being better than TLR

360 is 1080i..PS3 is gonna be 1080P with blue ray technology.. and ur right about resolution on smaller screans.. u cant really tell between 43 42 37 or 46. about 50" and up thats when u can start seeing a little bit of diiference..

EDIT: oh and i almost forgot. who said that TLS is better then TLR???

Yeah DLP is a great rival to LCD and Plasma. Just got a 60 inch Toshiba 1080p unit and the clarity and color is truly amazing and when you switch between HD and regular channel you wonder how you ever watched TV before bcause it looks so bad. Dlp is usually cheaper also. But youll never beat technology as soon as you get it something new will be out.

i dont actually mind those vizios.

at work we tend to only install Pioneer plasmas, and sony bravia lcds though.

im a BIG fan of the JVC DILA hd10k projector though. that thing is badass.

runco have some great projectors as well.

in the UK the Rear Pro TV isnt that popular, possibly due to the small size of the dwellings. (based purely on insane house prices)

ive never seen a rear pro in the UK actually. i did like them in the US though. massive screen real estate for such a low cost.

and after that ramble, we have just installed one of the first 50" Pioneer 5000EXs in the UK.

it is incredible. tru-hd is rockin. 1080p.

when a kaleidescape is also on the home AV network, it just gets better...

All crestron controlled :)

ok, i think im done.

(as a side note, in Hellerup, Denmark, i saw a red TLS last night, anyone here?)

...My wife and I are really happy with it - the JVC in Japan service was what sold me as well - they replace anything, even bulbs for free as long as I'm stationed here:thumbup...

I'd do DLP before LCD for sure, but I'm still partial to plasma. But DLP is good cost/quality ratio.
