I can tell you that the Red changed in later years (99 or 2000 I think) ,cant tell you anything other than that though .

If you thinking of colour matching parts or spray painting get ready for a migraine . The sun fades some parts more than others . The top of my tail section was nearly pink .
A good colour match may look good at lunchtime but bad later on in the day with different light .
There is only one way ,spray the whole bike . Which is why my s doesn't match perfectly .
I brought myself a " do me upper " vfr , full fairing ,RED , painting it was a pain though paint a I do not get on .(obviously )
IT was worth the effort though ,bloody red .Its no tl , Honda engineered all the character our of the v4 . Smooth and boring .
