TLR Picking an original

452 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  2wheelsagain
Hi all.
Quick question. I'm going through ads online and some TLR (first choice) dont have Suzuki decals on the fairing only TL1000R.
Did every year model have Suzuki on the fairings? Upper or lower etc.
I'm thinking some online have been repaired or repainted.
Thoughts?

Most excellent. Thanks for the link. Search works if you use the correct terms I guess.
Looks like one of my candidates has a non standard fairing.
Thanks again.
If you find an untouched one then its a rarity now.

consider the upgrades done to any bike you look at.

Some things will need to be done if you are to enjoy the potential of the bike.

if you want a mint example for the reason of having a mint example then the criteria is different.

if not then evaluate the example as a whole and consider the cost to bring it up to both a cosmetic and funtional level.

Thanks mate and I agree.
Not necessarily after an "original" but don't want to be sold one that's not if you know what I mean.

I've always found mods don't add much to the value of a bike as a buyer. Bikes are modded to the owner/sellers taste.
I see most are on the market with a PC3 or similar which I'd be happy with but radical front or rear ends etc and I'll pass thanks.
My TLR will be a keeper and hopefully appreciate over time and a stockish one has more potential in that regard.
