TL1000S undertails

I've had quite a few over the decade...Eurolook, Competition Werkes, HotBodies. PimpBike...

Latest I got a Pimpbike undertail. It only comes unpainted. Price is good, fit is good, decently made of chopped fiberglass. On the good side, it doesn't require as much cutting of the stock tray as some others. On the negative side, it protrudes down on either side of the tire and behind the tire about two inches, and it encloses the lower frame rail. I don't know how this is going to work out with my slightly extended swingarm or ride height adjuster or small mini-hugger (just enough to keep the suspension components clean & dry).

I'm considering getting rid of it and getting a Competition Werkes. I've got all kinds of modified stock taillights, so I want it to use a stock taillight.

Any advice?

Don't use one :dunno

IMO, a black coloured alum under tray (N2 wheelies, etc) with gap mod looks better than a plastic painted under tray. I have an N2 wheelies tray, but made an alum licence plate bracket to hold the plate, plate light, reflectors and turn signals. I also extended the bracket up to the underside of the OEM taillight housing to give that finished look from behind.

I don't ride much in the rain, etc.....so I am not to concerned with the lack of coverage/protection the alum under tail provides.

What brand are those turn sigs, Thump? Are they very bright?
Funny you talk about undertails with the original tailight as all these years later i wish i had bought the extremegraphics one that used the oem light instead of the one i bought, have searched ebay for years but never once has one come up for sale.Pondered cutting this one to take the oem light but methinks it might get messy.

I would have liked something that used rows of LEDs, like some newer tails.

See how Mike Ford's covers the frame rails? So does the PimpBike undertail.

I want it mostly for the water protection when I ride in rain, so I want to use it with a short mini-hugger to keep spray and grime off the suspension linkage. Otherwise the old SOAS bearings now running the Bitubo just won't last.

What about the oem SV tailights C..leds in a row..
Im trying to upload some more pics, but im on the phone so it doesnt work.
Mine is a carbon fiber undertail, for me its the best one that i ever got, since my goal its to make the tail thinner...
Having a undertail it doenst mean that you cant have a gap mod done....
Check my album on facebook and see more details on mine. :cheers
