I am looking to do a rear shock conversion on my TL1000R and I am trying to see what everyone has used
I all ready have some quotes for replacement shocks
  • Wilbers 640 - $1270
  • Wilbers 641 - $1700
  • Bitubo $1100
  • Hyperpro $1560
I am still waiting on quotes for Ohlins and Maxton
All prices are in Aussie dollars

Regardless, I'll give you an opinion on the Bitubo and the Wilbers 641.

Bitubo for the TLR - it was a huge improvement over the OEM rotary damper! However, while it allowed the rear end to feel like a motorcycle should, it could have used more rebound damping. I had to run the rebound maxed to control the bounce oscillations, and it was good. I found it to be completely adequate for my abilities on the street.

Wilbers 641.- I stumbled across a good deal on this Wilbers, so I picked it up and hoped for an improvement over the Bitubo. It did not disappoint. Quite controlled and very adjustable. I'm sure it can handle anything I can throw at it. Would be nice to have a remote preload adjuster, but I rarely need to change it, so it is not a big issue for me. A nice added feature is that it has its own rocker link. All of it is quality built.

My guess is that any of the high end shocks will work well for you.
