You will lose a few ponies and some handling to the shaft drive. For high miles and low maintenance it's not a bad trade though. My guess is those ponies won't be missed all that much either. What is that thing supposed to put down to the rear wheel?

It appears the gas is low and behind the engine with the airbox where the gas traditionally goes? It's becoming more common but still a good idea - keep the weight down low on what is probably going to be a relatively heavy bike already.
