K...I did use the search button. Nothing really fit my symptoms completely.

So I was at a light today and there was noise coming from the front cylinder. I don't think its the valve clickity clackity. Could be, but its only when the bike is at like 190-220°F.

Double checked the valves...no problem. It is definetely coming from the top of the cylinder, so I don't believe were talking big end bearings. It only does it at idle, no other rpm range noise, and does not do it at start up. Any ideas??

the R's have a habit of cracking front exhaust cam buckets from time to time

its worth pulling the front cam and buckets and checking them thoroughly.

Its also possible its the decompressor weights jangling around
