I just checked the clearances on the rear cylinder(tlr). I've read about n seen pics of tappets cracking in the center where they ride on the cam. So I pulled the cams n found this:

tappetinspection 010.jpg

tappetinspection 009.jpg

The left exhaust tappet clearance measured at .007"(the one w/the ring). The book says .008"-.012".

I cannot feel the ring w/my fingernail, but have any of y'all seen something like this before? If so would you recommend replacing the tappet? Or have you run something like this after adjusting the shim back into factory clearance?

Just stuck a 295 shim in it and the .008" feeler fits n the .009" won't go. On to the front. Thank you.

I'll probably probably run it all summer n check it in the fall to see if anything changes.

Beware front Cylinder buckets.

Picture from Henk.

look carefully at the bucket if you see circular cracks dump it and buy a new one.
