My brake lights work just fine with the foot brake and lever, but I have no running lights in the tail! I'm dark until I use the brake. Not good and I could use some help. All the fuses look good that are in the box up by the cluster. What else could it be?

Look at the large white and yellow connectors under the left turn signal cover. Pull them apart and inspect them thoroughly!!! My bet is there is probably some corrosion or possibly burnt pins in there. If so, clean and/or replace them. Once everything is clean, put some dielectric grease on the pins and put them back together.

Find the brown wire in the large white connector Rick referenced. This is the tail light circuit.
Probe that wire with your meter with key on. You should see +12 volts.
