I have the opportunity to get a large chunk of sponsorship money for club racing and I need some help.

I need to put together a sponsorship proposal and dont really know where to start. I think I need one to crib off.

I have all the costings I need but need help with the structure etc.

Can anyone assist?

How formal is your relationship with the sponsor i.e. is it a family member or friend, or will it be a proper arms length sponsorship contract?

I suppose the minimum content will include:
1 - An overview of the arrangement
2 - Time period of sponsorship
3 - Benefits to the sponsor (this is the tricky bit)
4 - Total cost for the season
5 - Cost to the sponsor for the season

There are people who specialise in this field, and you can get software to help you e.g. http://www.getasponsor.com/.

Would be worth posting this on the main forum too, and on motoforum.net (UK racers website).

The proposed sponsor is a large(ish) local firm who sponsor quite a few different local people at different levels doing different things and the approach was made to us by their Sponsorship/ Marketing Manager who uses our workshop alot and we are on fairly good terms with him.
He will present the deal to his firm on our behalf but it needs to be a proper submission.
I understand what the content needs to be but I would like to see one to understand the layout and presentation.
I am not keen on buying the software you suggested. I have been down that road before with other topics and have been severely dissappointed with what I got.
i will have a look at that racer's website tho...

Could you ask him if his company has a preferred format for the proposal?
