For the first 15 minutes or so after cold start the speedo doesnt move... then all of a sudden it wakes up. :rant

Ideas where to look? :confused

put in gear and releas clutch= moving forward = moving speedo

Oh, and the tacho works fine.
Guess I should start with the sensor thats bolted to the sprocket cover... :dunno

That's a place to start.

It would be handy if you knew someone with a TL you could temporarily swap with to see if the problem moves to the other bike / disappears on yours.

Sounds like the sensor to me. Only thing I can think of that would decide to act diffrent after it has had a bit to "warm up".

I have the same problem with mine from day one!
Mine reads much too high (i think), or i'm going faster than i think. Mostly the speedo is operating, then sometimes it will flatline for a while and come back awake.
Tried new speedo sensors, changed the gearing back to standard, still no difference.

check all connections for the speedo. Sound to me like there's a loose one sometimes.
