Hi.The tlr is about to complete 12000km from the last time i replaced the spark plugs. The 03 R6 also, the same as my friends gsxr1000 K8.All are running iridium ngk spark plugs. The manuals state change spark plugs every 12000km.I have not much experience on the life of spark plugs on these type of bikes, but it seems to me that only for street use the interval is too short. How long can they last? How long do you guys keep them? Thanks in advance.
In all honesty I don't know but nowhere near as many as a lot of people do................I had 2 consecutive years where I only did about 300 miles each year?
Most i´ve done is 15 000km with stock plugs, no worries. But changed them as cost is small compared to money i throw in to mods or what keeping bike costs overall.
I also change oils, filters etc. basic maintenance prob way too much, just for peaceful mind.
