Afternoon all.

We are planning a blast down to the south of Spain in July from Santander. Has any one ever done this route before and can you recommend any great twisty roads?

We are arriving on the ferry in to Santander and heading for a little village just above Malaga. I've looked at the map but it never gives you any indication if the road is any good or not. (maybe there a business opportunity there)

There are 6 of us going with fresh sticky tyres, so the more bends and twists the better!!!

Any ideas are most gratefully received.

Thanks:):

yapp, stick to the pyrenees...best roads in the world.

if you do want to go south...

Sierrra de Gredos just north of madrid is pretty nice,
as is Andalucia...north of Granada,

just stay away from highways. you'll be OK.

spain is fantastic. a little bit like the far west really, very deserted :)

PM Jesus (TLExup) - he lives near Santander so might be able to help with North-west Spain :thumbup The Picos de Europas are supposed to be beautiful :yes

To give some food for thought, Portugal has some great roads, and food/beer/accomodation costs are cheaper than Spain. I'm not sure further north, but we spent some time around the centre of Portugal on the Spanish side, near Portalegre, and there were some stunning roads around there :hail
