how straight forward will it be, is the spring a bugger to remove? getting stand chromed so need to take it off

And whilst it's off you get the chance to clean all the old chain-lube off in that area :)

Yeah, it's an easy job :)

Side stand

Here's a wee tip.....

Put the stand in the down position.

Get some lollipop sticks and jam them into the coils of the spring.

When you flip the stand up it should be very easy to remove the spring.

(You will also get a wee bit more strech in the spring in the mid way position between up and down.)

Note that the stand bracket is threaded, so you remove the nut first, then the pivot bolt.
