Get a service manual and check your clearances, generally they tighten up over time rather than loosen. A lot of folks figure they get loose/louder, but they do not, they tighten as the valve/seat get driven into the head.
Checking the clearance is easy, and if you can get that far, replacing shims is also rather easy.
