Ok so I downloaded a movie on XBOX Live last night, and figured I'd pop a blank DVD into my recorder and record the movie (for my own personal use of course). The XBOX is connected into my cable box, which is connected into my VCR/DVD recorder combo. I've used this unit to record TV shows (kinda like TIVO) in the past and its worked perfectly.
I started the movie and hit record, and to my amazement I get a msg on screen that says "cannot record a copy protected movie" :dowhat

How does my DVD recorder know its copy protected? It's playing from the XBOX on a standard red/white/yellow A/V connection, and going through the cable box. I went back to the XBOX dashboard and started recording, worked fine. As soon as the movie started the message popped up again. WTF?

Anyone know how to get around this?

Will

Sounds like an old macrovision copy protection deal. Do it with a PC.
