Hi all,

Found this picture online:

Land vehicle Vehicle Motorcycle Car Rim

Which is a 04-06 R1 rear end fitted onto a TLR.

I've also found this thread:

http://www.motor-forum.nl/forum/list_messages/321785//

Which shows a few photos of a build doing the same thing, so it can be done.

But can anyone by looking at the subframe give me any indication what it might be from?

Here's a few pictures from the thread:

It's in the picture here, which looks like a standard TLR subframe just cut down to me?

I think it will look good only if the exhaust pipes go up inside a swingarm. With the stock swingarm like in the first pic it looks ugly.
I agree, I don't care for the way the pipes are run.
my TLR has an R1 rear end done by the previous owner. Its a cut down TLR subframe with the R1 tail unit over it. The seat is a bastardised hybrid of the R1 attached to the TLR seat base to use the original mounts.
I'll try and dig out a camera and get some photos of it at some point. The bike has unsupported danmoto exhausts which look awesome as they run parallel to the R1 seat unit.
That bike is from Patrick. A member on the dutch TL forum.
The subframe is a one off. He made it himself.

I like it , the tail is a little to high for my taste, I think it's a euro thing idk. You don't see the tail section way up in the air here in the states as much as you do in Europe. I love the styling tho. I'm happy with the angle of the rear as it is stock. I could go an inch or two higher with a narrow tail section like the r1 in the link, just not that high. The rear angle in the first pic is more to my liking. It's just a matter of preference. Looks like he's got an r1 engine in that tlr frame. It's hard to tell but it's not a tl engine for sure.

Oh it is an TL engine for sure! :)
Is it, it's really hard to see. It ought I saw an r1 engine cover. I was wondering how he got a wide ass r1 engine in a tlr frame without using the jaws of life. Lol

Nice, very nice. I'm not big on the single side swing arm. Looks to much like a leg blender to me. I see the benifit in racing but you can still change a tire pretty quick on a standard sa. They look heavier as well. They may not be but but there bulky for sure. I see little benifit for a lot of bodily risk.
Guess it's like the high tail section, just a matter of taste! Personally I like it, on a customized TL.

If you could get me some photos that would be great.

At least I know it can be done....

The bike is already running an under seat exhaust system but with a TLS seat unit that looks okay but a bit dated and I think the R1 end tidys up the rear nicely.

Also thanks to the link of the thread I will have a look through!
