i had ordered a power comander 5 for my 1997 suzuki tl1000s and in the box it says its for a honda grom can i change the connectors to work for the tl?

I would return it and get the proper one for your bike. To answer your question, I do not know.

Definitely return it and get the correct one for your bike. They are model specific and it is extremely unlikely that it will work, even if the connectors are all the same. A quick search on dynojets site will tell you which one you need.
