hi there

i have been trying to get my TLR to start

it just cranks over, and cranks over and....etc

but wont fire
turns out it doesnt have spark
and even though the fuel pump primes, i cant smell fuell even after a minute of cranking :dowhat

so i had another look through all the connections and found a plug that wasnt attached to anything
turns out it is meant to go to the tip-over sensor

which the manual says is meant to be under the tank bolting plate
i dont think its there


so will this make the ECM not let the bike start?
i put in dealer mode and i got "d88" come up in the tach display

but i am thinking that maybe the display is stuffed and all the LCDs are rooted cos from what i can find out "d88" isnt anything??!?!?

d88 is jargon.

The bike wont start without the TOS. Shorting the two wires wont work either, you need to fit a resistor between them. From memory it was around 60 ohms standard. (I don't have one to measure anymore).

i might call around wreckers tomorrow

its not really something that i want to bypass in the long-run


hopefully that'll be the last of it....


so does it sound like my gauges are stuffed?
they are smashed to all hell, but i was hoping the little LCD displays suvived

Sounds like they are stuffed. It'll be hard to set your TPS on a d88 :laugh

oh well

first thing is first, have to get it to run!!!

ordered a TOS from metro motocycle wreckers, $54 shipped express
should turn up tomorrow
