Hey all!
I'm new here but not new to riding...... Taking ownership of my new to me TLS today I though I'd start my first thread with a bang.

My new(to me) ride........
Well it started off with Biscuit(Canadien guy and excellent machinist) making this 1999 Tl1000s into a naked bike and making LOTS of trick parts in the process. The bike was then bought by mrwog(a buddy from New Hampshire) in the spring of '05 and he modded some more. Today it arrived at my house! I've got all winter to do my thing to it. Being a CNC Programmer/machinist has it's perks ya know....

Best I can gather the mods so far are:

-Powdercoated frame, swingarm, and wheels
-1983 Suzuki GS1100 headlight and custom brackets, all powder coated
-Ginormous tubes made that go between the upper and lower triple clamps to mount said headlight brackets.
-MrWog custom seat
-custom exhaust with "Weapon Racing" cans and hand made hangers
-Fuel injection dialed in with Yoshimura box
-Harris rearsets
-Ohlins rear suspension
-mongo sized fat bars and custom steering damper mount
-Adjustable steering damper, not sure of the brand......
-frame sliders
-520 chain conversion, 3 up in the back
-braided brake lines
-new front rotors and EBC-HH front pads

My plans for the winter are:

-Racetech or Traxxion Dynamics fork rebuild
-Rear fender eliminator kit or undertail
-Going back to clip-ons
-New tars
-new chain and sprocket set
-Black ceramic coating on the exhaust
-Radial calipers off an '04 R1 with machined 6061-t6 Aluminum 'Busa adapters
**Still not sure about going back to fairings.....

Suggestions and comments are welcome! Regards, Jake

It currently looks pretty much like this:

editted to add the R1 calipers I'd forgotten about.

welcome, sweet machine... they totally grow on you

maybe add this to your list, red ring, with black fastners...

you will save a few bux running some of your own parts... but you better hide the wallet, one mod will lead to another.

That looks damn nice as a naked ... good job!
I think the tail hump makes the ass look way too fat though - see if someone can get you the much lower hump ;)

:bigfinger welcome

I like the streetfighter look although I think I'd ditch the air scoops. They look a little like the nozzles for vaccuum's at car washes and pretty much cover the beautiful powder coated trellis frame. I think I'd also get a bolt kit either chrome or the anodized red to really offset all the nice black metal. The last would be the handlebars. I like renthals and helibars, but I prefer the standard clipons on the S.

I guess what I'm saying is I want it to look a little more like a ducati monster.

I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eatin crackers.

:)
