Folks,

I've just dropped a big ball.:banghead

I've cut a brand new DID 530ZVM2 chain too short. I'm fitting an 18/40 sprocket combination and ordered a 108 link chain. It was far too long so I cut it to 106 links. It still seemed too long so I reduced it too 104. It's now far too tight.:banghead

My question is, can I use two rivet links together to increase the length back to 106?

I should remember the old saying: 'measure twice and cut once'.:banghead

Thanks in anticiaption.

You could probably get away with it using two rivet types. If done properly, they wont be any weaker than any other link.

if you used a proper chain breaker to press the chain links apart you can even reassemble the chain and peen the link back to original.
but if you don't have the skills then the double joiner is the way to go
