Mounting Sat Nav on TLS

Looking to put a sat nav on my TLS but not sure of the best solution. Some years ago, I used a TomTom One on a car suction mount stuck on my rev counter. Worked fine until coming back from a tour of West Cost of Scotland - coming through Glencoe marveling at the views. Got to the bottom end and noticed no sat nav!!! It was dangling off the power lead, bashing against the RHS fairing - no surprises - it damaged its screen. Looking to do something a bit more permanent, but because I haven't gotten brave enough to remove the steering damper, I'm a bit limited on options. Anyone mounted to the fairing stay? I'm looking at Garmin Zumo, so something using their powered mount would be ideal. However, I'm very open to other options. I'm a volunteer rider for North West Blood Bikes ( www.nwbb-lancs.org ), and whilst I normally use the liveried bike (a BMW R1200RT-P), as our numbers grow, the time will come when I may need to use the TL. That'll waken up a few patients!! :devious We sometimes are required to visit institutes we haven't been to before, so I'm trying to prepare. I wonder what a TLS would look like marked up like a blood bike??? Wouldn't need a siren, that's for sure, eh? (Open pipes!!) Anyway, looking forward to some of your great ideas (and humerous ones too!!)
Cheers blokes!

I had my tomtom mounted to my fairing stay at one point but on trip to germany I found out it was in the way for my tank bag and made things a little awkward

I have gone back to my old system

I have a bit of flat bar drilled so it fits over the mirror bolts on the inside of the fairing and angled it to allow a mount to be fitted to it

its in the way of the clocks but the sat nav has a speedo on it anyway

its a bit hard to visualize so I will try and find a pic but I dont think I have one and the bike is in bits at the min so cant get you one
if you look in the left hand corner of the screen you will see the satnav

the only pic I have of the mount is this and you cant really see it apart from a bit of silver behind the brake resevoir...it attaches to the mirror mounts and extends forwards...the pic doesn't show a lot really!!

Stu. That's a great mount.
I used to have a sat nav mounted to the faring bracket but now I just stick my phone in the clear top pocket of the tank bag.
No problem with mine mounted on the crossbar/fairing brace, I use a zumo 550, using a ram mount, which makes it very easy to remove. I have also put a power point just infront of the clocks to plug in zumo, phone charger or to power my headset on the move, I won't be able to take photos till we get some daylight on Friday though.
I have a ram mount velcroed to the tank with a piece of heater hose braced/ zippy tied to the fairing stay l now use my samsung galaxy in an x grip mount works well!
Aaargh - thanks very much for your replies, stu_m, but I don't have permissions to see your pics on that forum. I don't suppose you have them available on your pc??

Many thanks to you all for your replies. I like pictures - have any of you got pictures you can share with me (of the GPS mount alternatives, you understand :devious). Looks like there are a few good options out there amongst you though - that's what's so nice about TLZone.

stu, that's brilliant. I've been trying to use the fairing stay on the TLR, yours is so much easier.
Considering that smartphones do the same as a TomTom and a thousand more things;

No they dont!

I use a program where you can plt routes on google maps and load them to my satnav so it takes me on the route I want to go and not what my satnav wants the program is easy to use and a lot easier then trying to do it
