Koso instrument temp sensors

On the 2000 TL1000s I have bought, it is fitted with a Koso panel. The two temp sensors (oil and water) and not connected, but just hanging from the cables. Where on the bike to I fit these sensors ? Is there already a threaded hole for them ? or do I have to drill and tap them somewhere ??

OK....found that Koso will supply an in-line water sensor adapter. Not sure about the oil though yet
Do the Koso clocks work with the stock OEM oil pressure switch ?

Give us a link please to the Koso clocks you are using. The model number and such....

Page 2-2 (Wiring Installation Instructions) in the Koso manual shows the Gray wire from the Koso gauge should be connected to the oil pressure switch. Have you tried that?

yep. and when I short the grey wire out, the koso oil pressure light comes on. But when engine is killed via kill switch, the same light does not illuminate.
When I bought the bike a month ago, it had the koso mounted so I don't know if the Suzuki clocks showed if the pressure switch was still working. The bike has only 35K on the clock, so imo I would have said the switch should be ok. So I needed to know if the koso works with the OEM pressure switch , before I go out and buy a new OEM pressure switch

I agree. The Koso clocks should work with the OEM pressure switch.

You can test the oil pressure switch with an Ohm meter to see if it is working. The switch should be open when the engine is off, and it should be closed when the engine is running. When the switch is closed it provides a path to ground. So then, the meter should show very little resistance through the switch when the engine is running.

As I thought. then its knackered !
Cant find where the "temp sensor" for the oil is supposed to mount, any ideas ? down by the oil filter ?

There is no oil temp sensor on the TL. Only coolant temperature. The '97 was mounted in the radiator. All subsequent years were mounted in the thermostat housing.

Only the oil pressure switch is near the oil filter.
So anywhere to mount the koso oil temp sensor ?

No where that I am aware of. But that doesn't mean it can't be done. :O

Oil temp seems like overkill if you are already sensing coolant temp. :confused

Someone will post up some options, I'm sure.
I'm not sensing coolant temp. (yet).
Sorry I can't offer any help on this.

I've never seen a Koso mounted on our bikes. Have any pics you can share of it turned on? Just curious.

I have same koso(rx1n) gauge, you can put water temp sensor thermostat housing. just drill 8.7mm(from my memory) hole on the housing and put 1/8" npt thread. you can put same thread oil drain plug.

Thanks.... As regards to the oil pressure light...with the stock oil pressure switch it does not light up on the koso when engine stalls. If I take the wire off the switch and ground it, the light comes on. I bought another switch, but it doesn't work with that one either. Any ideas ?
Are you sure you have connected oil pressure switch wire? follow the wire on the oil pressure switch and make sure its connected, then check koso wiring on the gauge where you hook the oil pressure switch wire to the koso? i think you just connected something wrong.
