I've been thinking of dragging the gixxer out to the drag strip. I figure it's a good place to practice my launches for when I start racing.

you should do it. :thumbup
i see the big guys starting races with good upright posture, sitting back on the bike, and i wonder if they couldnt get underway faster with weight more forward and lower. maybe the bikes would just light the tires considering how powerful and light they are... ??

Yea, that seems to be the one part of racing you really don't get any practice at on track days. It's the one thing I think I know the least about.

Figures, I just checked the local venues and one, due to us moving into our cold and rainy season had the last races on friday. Another has them on Sundays and it's going to be raining on sunday. :banghead

hehe, that varies by state and locality - I'd be busted in an hour if I tried that on my commute in NoVA/DC
