I was going to pick up a '00 CR250 but the crank had tons of play @ the mag and the piston crown had 1 inch long chunk missing at the exhaust port. I put a dentist mirror up the port to see if the cylinder was all busted but it was fine (?!). The only thing I saw was that the rings wore through the NiCaSil coating at TDC.
He wouldn't move on is price so I moved on...
Anyway, just thaught I'd share since you have a CR.
