lads stuck on th a1 broken down!!!! lights went off on clocks the other day bike came to a halt fired up again ran sweet!!! tonight lights went off again ! indicated then indicators went haywire apparently!
it is now not got enough to fire it up!
obvious things to check are charging/ battery / rectifier blah blah but do these or have these issues or has anyone experienced this? thinking simple wiring faults that may cause this like switches etc....
thanks for your help

You're not telling us which bike you have (S or R) and if there's been any mods to it. Has there been recent maintenance done?

Right off the bat: Yes, it looks like the common issue with the starter relay connector frying up and making your bike loose all power.

It is not necessarily the starter relay itself. It is most commonly the connector that connects to the relay that corrodes, creates resistance, thus create a lot of heat, which in turn disforms the connector and the relay.

Edit:
If the issue (bad connector) isn't dealt with soon enough, then the relay does fry up too:

Uggggg, yucky!!! Need a little soda on that.
sorry it is an R, AA jumped it check at idle 12.3v reving till 4000 13.2 v then rode it back back light was off apparently ! not checked anything myself yet!
find it weird its rode 30 mile back running fine lights dimmed a few times?
thanks for your replies!
I didn't know Alcoholics Anonomous did that sorta thing. I don't drink but damn, I may have to join anyway if the do roadside assistance. Good job AA! Ijk lol

where is this to be found! havnt even took a panel off this bike yet all I know is the battery is in the front left panel
You may also want to check the yellow connector under the left ram air cover. :yes

Just above the battery box, can't miss it!
my S ran for 35 miles once when I put a charged battery back on, but put the neg wire from my rectifier charge mod onto plus of battery so battery drained. Check charging system.

we havnt touched the bike ourselves yet so I would have though if this was the case this would have been noticeable earlier than this!!!! weve had it 2 weeks now? I also don't know if it has any mods?
the charging system was 12.3 v tickover which is low I think and 13.2 at 4000 so my first impressions is it is some where else?
took battery off put that on charge, found the starter relay connections really clean both ends as people have suggested havnt got to yellow plug as someone else has said to busy laughing at why Suzuki would put all there wiring down one side looks like an afterthough? did find a cigarette lighter mod fitted straight to battery obviously for a sat nav ! that will be going in the bin once removed!! and am going to continue tomorrow!
asked my lad hes says its when he switches the headlights fully on he loses clock lights and rear light???? going to delve at the switch MAY THE ELECTRICAL FUNFAIR CONTINUE!!!!
any ideas thanks
Pull the switch pod apart. Def sounds like you've got a short somewhere. I'd trace back from the pod checking for any obvious hackery/corrosion/wear and tear. If any of the loom sections look like they've been rewrapped then maybe unwrap them to expose whatever delights lie within.

I think your right mate didn't have any issues since we got it then clock lights went out switch seems to be abit dodgy either connections etc... headlights dimming etc. like I said last night it got slaved by the AA and ran all the way back home(30 mile) so charging I would have thought not being an issue or battery but that said could be intermittent? puzzle continues
You have a yellow plug (and a white one too), or someone has completely rewired things, which might explain the problem. You'd best have another look under the left side ram air cover. :yes
Also you may want to test and make for damn sure it's charging. If you headlight is off you could go for quite a few miles before it goes south. Just for shits and giggles, start the engine, run it up to 3/4k rpm and disconnect the ground from the battery. If it continues to run good, it's not the charging system. If it dies straight away, u have a charging issue. If it runs but runs like shit and is backfiring and spitting and sputtering then you likely have a weak charging system.
