How do I test the fuel pump relay, is there a way to bypass to check for voltage at the pump?

You can swap the two relays in the trunk of the TLS and see if this is your poblem. They are the same.
Perhaps there's another way in the manual (have you donwloaded it already?) but this is the easy and obvious one....
yes, possible. The relay basically is a 12V powered switch and you can bypass this to check the fuel pump.
I found the hot wire at the fuel pump relay plug and jumped it over to the wire that powers the pump. Good new is I have voltage while doing this, bad news is the neither relay will power the pump circuit.
So I either have 2 bad relays, or an issue with the computer
Relay tested good.

Now why dont I have power to the relay?
I dont believe I have any power to the ECU.

1 wire has 9 volts, the other plug has 1 wire that reads 5 volts
maybe your tip over sensor (tos), take it off and see what happens. did you download the manual from the File Vault?

I have the same problem. I just ended jumping them all the time. Pump only runs when the kill switch is switched to run. So as long as i remember to use the kill switch I'm fine. I've had no problems yet. But would like to know whats going on as well.
tip over switch has been disconnected. I would like to verify the ECU is powered up before spending the money on a new fuel pump.

With the key on and the engine not running, which wires going to the ecu are hot and how much voltage are they suppose to have?
Did you d/l the manual yet? You'll probably find your answers there
I did download the manual. However I do not see troubleshooting the ECU
ecu's don't just fail unless you unplug them with the power on there is a high chance that you do some damage to it.
Could be a faulty kill switch too or just a fuse or a sensor, or a broken wire in your loom... :O

where are you measuring? If you don't have 1 side of your meter to battery ground you could be reading anything, you could be measuring a sensor for all you know.:O
Go through the troubleshoot section in the manual and stick to your problem description: fuel pump not working :)
Maybe I am just an idiot. Problem I am having with the manual, seems the trouble shooting section pertains to error codes. Well since the bike sat for a year and had no battery, I dont have codes to look at.
i have the same problem on my tlr i did everything imaginable and i cant get power through the fuel pump relay so its jumped but would really like to figure it out i dont know if this will affect any further mods i want to do like remapping and such!!!
So what all could keep the fuel pump from turning on?

Will these bikes start in gear or only neutral? If they dont start in gear, is the fuel pump not going to run?

The bike had no chain on it, was cut off do to rust. Spinning the sprocket with my finger I can get the bike to go to neutral. So if there is a safety switch that keeps the pump from turning on while the bike is in gear, this could be my problem.

If thats not it, I guess I will spend the money for a Caravan pump and jump the relay to see if the bike will start.

I am getting very close to putting her on CL for $1500 or parting her completely out. I am not sure she is worth fixing, I just found out she has 6 years of CA back registration fees due.
GOOD NEWS, relay powers up only when in nuetral.
Had a hard time finding nuetral. No chain on bike and the linkage shifter was replaced by a shift shaft mounted so the pattern was reversed.

Bummer is I sold the bike today for $1200

Thanks for the help guys
The relay will power up in neutral. for about 1 second . then it will power up again when the bike starts. it only pumps continuously when the bike is running.

How did you jump it? Are you still able to ride it daily too?

Can you tell me how to do this? Are you able to actually ride it daily this way?
