Here's a bright idea.

Halfords are doing a 2-4-1 offer on high brightness halogen H4 headlamp bulbs but curiously only on the car items. Its the same bulb in the same box except for one says cars and the other says bikes. The offer is only on the one marked "car". Go figure.

They do seem to live up to spec though.

A bulb is a bulb lol
car bulbs dip to the curb.

bike bulbs dip straight down

or should ................
bulbs are bulbs

its the reflector and the lens thats different

all bike and car headlights actually raise up on the left here in the UK this is to light up any road signs as not all of them are lit up

Basic design if the same for sure. The new ones do seem brighter than the ones they replaced so I'm assuming the construction has improved in recent years.

Then again I probably got more gain just from cleaning the crud off the lens. :laugh

If only it would stop raining for 11 seconds....
Put some "up to 120% brighter" ones in my car when a bulb blew, they do give out a more light than a normal halogen,
Although you've got to laugh at the halfords offer, bogof, but a single bulb is £29.99. They still work out at 15 quid a bulb.
:banghead.
You'd proberbly get it brighter than buying one of those bulbs by making sure you have a full 12 volts at the bulb by installing a relay

yes but they are only 20% brighter than normal ones running at 100 % lol ;)

So I guess the ones labelled +80% are 20% dimmer than a normal bulb then. :lol
I think you'll find that they are in fact labelled as over twice the light.

I wondered when that was coming :laugh

lol its like the old days in the hijackers thread , bollocks followed by more bollocks then maybe a bike mentioned :)
Regardless of the nonsense printed on the box ( it says "90% brighter" but doesn't say what's its comparing against so its a meaningless statement) the output is definitely better than the items they replaced. 20 quid for the pair. In terms of construction they appear identical to this.

In the end I think its a reasonable deal.
