:banghead Bloody tail seat fell off again today. That's the 3rd time. The catch is obviously not doing its job. Soon as I get up a bit of speed the wind takes the seat off. Have to put the cowl back on for the time being.

Anyhoo, Anyone know if the 750 SRAD tail seat is a straight swap? Plenty of those around. No Tiller seats unless I go shopping in China again.

Although I did find this. Maybe a bit bling but the niggling retail therapy addiction is starting to itch.

Snowy I think that's just the seat cover. I almost got fooled when looking for my pillion seat. What about bolting off the hardware from the hump and making a flat cargo area? Wind resistance would be minimal and you could pop a case of ESB on there too.
Someone was doing a few years back a bit of steel cord coated with plastic with a clip at one end so you could 'secure' the seat / hump to the subframe so if the catch does let go the steel cord stops it going bye-bye.
I had exactly the same thing happen too

so I did this

Like the cable idea. Could probably use on of those plastic springy things you get for key-chains. I might even have one somewhere.

Thanks for the tip.
Yeah it's like a surf / snow board tether.
So nobody got a TL-R and a 750SRAD in their garage they can try a quick swap to see if the seats are close enough to swap?

Part numbers are similar but not a match it seems so they probably aren't identical but I'll take "close enough".
Ive got 750 srad and tlr rear seats and humps mate, will look tomoz afternoon mate, if you need any of them im sure I could take some gold in return.:lol
Somewhat miraculously I managed to find the seat I lost last night. It had wedged itself into a hedge after it flew off which was kinda lucky. If it had just ended up in the road it would have got mangled. A few scuffs but still serviceable. I'm thinking I still need a few spares though, given my recent record with the thing.

If you need a few spares, I have a hump, pillion and rider seat, plus a bit more more tiller plastic I don't need. You could start a collection of spares, and not bother with the cable:laugh

Hiya I don't know if we are on the same sort of subject here I had simler problem on my tls last yr I found it was the locking mechanise was screwed Down to tight I slightly backed the two Phillips screws of slightly & my rear seat fitted perfect n now not flung of since!!
The R system is different from the S. The S hump locks on tight, the R is held on by the last10mm of the lock mechanism....on mine at least....

Ditch the whole tail and replace with K1 or K2 GSXR1000 tail. Slenderer and sexyer:devious
