getting there!!

Well I got my home made ohlins bracket made and cut the spring off the R1 damper. Hopefully I can get in the garage this weekend. I need the snow banks to melt some to get in there.
If I do I will mock it all up n measure for the spacer. If it looks good I can send the bracket out to powder coating. Pics to come soon!!!

This is the damper you need to be vareful with

there are many R1 dampers to use

with this one make sure there is ample clearance to the tyre from the reservoir.

tyres change shape at speed and get taller and narrower

looking good tho :thumbup

Stu,

Total threadjack, but hopefully it benefits cjinkser!

Do you see any clearance issues ???

I had the older style vertical R1 damper in place and I switched to the R6 to keep that ugly stock mud guard. :laugh

I am willing to switch again though!

Thanks for the thought of tire clearance. Did not think of it. When it gets mocked up this weekend I will check. It is from a 06 R1. The holes I drilled in my bracket we're .020 in larger than needed, I did this to make up the difference when it gets powder. I will definitely let everyone know how it looks Sunday.
that one looks fine

might be different with other sprocket combo's tho.

my rules are...........check everything! :laugh
Snow snow snow. I wanted to work in my garage this weekend but we get nothing but snow this year in new York. This winter is the worst. Can't wait till its gone. I need some much needed riding time.
Ok mocked it up this weekend. How do you make the tank and bracket clear each other? Do I just need to get the persuasion tool out and give it a couple of sacks? Or do I have to cut something?
I had to remove some material from the inside of seat bracket to get the eye to line up.

Anybody know where to get drawings for that bracket? I have and R1 for my S already, just missing the bracket. Cjinkster, did you make that bracket out of steel?
Yeah it was 1/4 inch plate steel. I found the dimensions by searching for R1 shocks in the little search window. If I knew how to put the link in the thread I would. The title of the thread reads R1 shock conversion bracket's.
