Fuel Return hose

Hi all,

Banging head now.

I am trying to order a replacement fuel return hose (Genuine) and am not getting what I should. 1997 TL1000s.

Twice parts have come through wrong now, Fowlers and Robinsons.

Part number - 09335-54115-600

Its a rubber hose reinforced with a plastic inner pipe.

I have been sent just rubber hose, one about 2 foot long and the other about 6 inches long, both with the same part numbers, but not in original packaging (marked up wrong I guess)

Can anyone verify that the original hose is as I describe.

Thank yoooooooo...

Looking at the Robinson's fiches it looks like you got what you ordered. I suspect you also want items 16,17 and 23.

The fuel return hose is just the rubber jobbie armoured with a coil and flexible plastic outer. Goes from the base of the tank to the regulator. The main feed to the injector rail is the rigid plastic one with the rubber sheath and quick release fittings.
Thanks for the reply, I do know that the feed hose to the rail is the reinforced one with the Q/R fittings.

This is why I stated `Return` hose.. :p

I think it might have been replaced and upgraded to a better quality fuel line early in its days, which itself over time has succumbed to `rubber rot`.

The discrepancy is that from two separate dealers I got two different hoses which share the same part number, hence the original question.

Our other shop has just about to take on Suzuki as a second Franchise so I can wait a little longer to sort out this issue.

I am Master Tech / Workshop Manager at a Kawasaki Franchise, so don`t have the inside ability to talk to people who would help from Suzuki.

Thanks any how...

Revo,

I have a 97S OEM return line sitting on my bike right now, just walked in to the garage to inspect. Like FMJ said: It is just glorified rubber with a silly metal coil over top that serves no purpose. I had to trim the ends a couple milli to get rid of all the cracks. There is no internal plastic tube. I would have no problem putting some Gates FI-rated hose there and sending you mine if OEM is all its about. Judging by your street fighter, stock isn't important at all to you though.

P.S. I f*cking love and voted for your bike... only voted 3 times now, so you should feel honored :laugh

Thanks man, took a while to get what was in my head into a working bike.
Built fighters before around the oil cooled Suzi 1100`s.

This bike is bad ass to ride though, proper tool.

The fuel pipe is going to be high quality hose, should be a bit better quality than stock.

The metal coil is supposed to prevent the hose from kinking......though it may not always work that way.
