Others are also interested, but no one has come back with a decent ride report. :banghead

Hello, unsure if this is a bit late...
Yes I have one fitted, great mod - highly recommended. Cleaned up my throttle responce and gave me more mpg too.
Just plugs into the TLs expansion port wiring on the loom, dead easy. You can check your TPS for issues too.
It transformed my bike, so much smoother to ride.

Thanks for the feedback Beeker. :thumbup

Is it simply plug-n-play? Because Healtech indicates that it can be "tuned" via maps. :confused

Can you tell us anymore about what is involved in the "setup?"

Six5,

I got the same ideas you got. I did some late night research and can answer a few of your questions and am working on something FUN!! :devious

I got my mac out, tried to emulate windows and hack it together. SUCCESS (until WINE crashed my mac, but I got what I needed out. CSV of TL1000S "map".) Program and maps are free to download from their website, and you can toggle 2 ( maybe 3 ) maps.

I think it is a 9 ( ?? ) wire install. 8 wire Suzuki Yosh plug in, then a posi-lock plug to ECU loom (where I don't know, as I only found some video in Portuguese and my Portuguese is not too good! It apparently shows TPS % and RPM live while highlighting the current map point. :hail ).

You basically change the startup procedure (with throttle positions) to do one of three maps: map1, map2, nomap (which seems to be alterable... which is why I say 3 toggled maps).

I noticed from this tuned map, the 2500 rpm 20-80% throttle is actually lower than stock. I bet cruising in 6th, at as low rpm as comfy, you may be able to sip gas.

Mind you, I don't have one, but I may be looking into it very shortly. I have a Yoshi, airbox mod, K&N filter, putting in TRE, so I figure a tune is a must.

been looking at these for a long time to be honest

and been thinking of selling the PC2 and getting one!

I just need to find someone willing to set it up cheap

Stu,

If you can just screen shot your current power commander map. I can plug your values into the heal tech program and export the file for you. You could basically duplicate your current map. Don't quote me on this because I have neither products on my bike but I plan on getting this as a present to myself here shortly.
Hello again...

I meant plug and play by...

All you do is buy the item, load the map or maps into it, connect it to the bike via expansion port and connect the two ecu wires (TPS and RPM) and you are good to go, just like that. Simples! (takes 10 minutes). Once the wiring is in place you could disconnect it in seconds, connect it in seconds- plus loading the maps takes seconds...

As it a very clever little box. I think it works by it gets the ECU to run the fuel MAP file in IT not the ECU map file and so you can program it with a power commander custom map (if you have one) or run a generic map like they supply or like I did find half a dozen maps on the web, analyse the data and compile your own map. When you connect via laptop in real time to the bike with it running you can see which map cell the ECU is using as you blip the throttle. You can adjust this in real time by 1 percent increments, so setting the bike up on a dyno should be really quick all you would need is a F/A meter. I didn't do this as analysing many maps - mainly PC3 ones on the net I came up with my own as below...

View attachment 38344

My MPG increased by around ten percent on tank to tank fills and throttle response is very smooth compared to stock... As I run on part throttle most of the time it was a no brainer for me :yes

I bought this device because here in the UK they are maybe going to increase the ethanol content of our unleaded, this device gives me the options to tune the bike to the fuel at the pump whatever :thumbup - as the F/A ratios for increased ethanol are slightly different, from what I understand and have read.

Hope this helps - all the best :bounce

All this sounds exciting stuff.

Was going to get this A/F gauge just to get me in the ball park to get me to the dyno without flooding it or siezing it from being to lean;

Would this do ?

if you buy one then go to the dyno then plug it in?

thanks for the offer but its just a generic map at the moment anyway and not custom so could probably already be way out :laugh

My understanding is that with the A/F gauge and being able to change each cell by 1% at any given revs it will be possible to create your own custom map.

Further with the guage fitted you will be able to monitor the A/F ratio in real time while riding then adjust to suit when back home.(adjust for ram air or temperature variations)

This then avoids the need to go to the dyno at all. Unless you want a BHP number.
Dougie I got the impression you wanted to do this before getting a custom map on the dyno

but yeah I know what you are getting at with the A/F ration and meter

ideally you want one that can log the A/F then look at the data at home while you play with the FI tuner
Dougie,

I would think a custom map that is close to your set up would be fine enough to ride the bike to the dyno. Even the stock map can't be too far off. Unless my bike was tuned with a Yosh box before I got it, then it is runnin the stock map.

Beeker,

Can you confirm these numbers? I am having trouble reading the font on your map picture.

That or either save me a larger picture and I will go over it. edit Saw mods in signature. Doing my air box now. Might have to try your map out! I included it in my visual with the guessed info above. If I am wrong anywhere, I can update and fix...

All,

I have been working on a visualizer for the maps... ENJOY :devious

3D MAP

X-AXIS: 500 rpm increments from 1000 - 11000
Y-AXIS: 11 throttle positions from 0-100%
Z-AXIS: "Units" from appx -10 to 20
