I did mine on 99 TLR last weekend, I used a rachet strap the type used on a trailer there are two hooks joined together at each end I cut one off and shortened the remaining hook to make it fit perfectly into the spacer hole on each side. I did try to compress the spring by hand but couldn't. To push the new seal and wear ring in I used a pvc pipe cut into two halfs it seemed to work well. I wont lie its the first time I have sealed inverted forks and it can be awkward three hands would be handy but next time will be a doddle.
Mine were very similar to the ones in the vid. Be sure you have the manual to hand I used it to double check reassembly and correct oil level.
I used a plastic bag to cover the stantion end while pushing the new seal on so it disnt get damaged.
