What are the differences, pros & cons between Explorer and Firefox?

We have Explorer on our machines at work, but I've just started using Firefox to test drive it (an IT mate highly recommends it).

Thoughts? :O

Firefox hands down!

I like being able to open multiple home pages. That takes care of most of the clicking!

Being able to toggle between tabs is alot better than searching through mulitple browser windows.

I've been using Firefox for about 3 years and have no issues

I like IE 9 best, it has tabs like firefox and I don't have to re-memorize short cuts.

I have not tried IE 9 but I rarely use the tab functions in Firefox.

As I said in that post, in the end they are just browsers. Each one has a little different feel to it. I run IE on my windows box and Firefox on my Linux box at home. The Linux box is for when I feel the need to surf the zone and my wife is on the other computer. I don't really prefer one browser over the other, but I do prefer my windows box because everything works easier. Too much manual downloading, installing and configuring on the Nix box to make me happy. Still haven't gotten video to work on it, but I haven't tried very hard either.

firefox doesn't render all pages correctly...
so i have to use avant sometimes (modified IE browser)

actually IE doesn't render a lot of sites properly, but since most web programers are lazy, if it works in IE for them, they call it a day. Firefox is one of the most w3c compliant browsers out.

I'd prefer firefox over IE purely on a security basis. So many exploits are used in IE. If you're getting a lot of spyware and pop-ups...try ditching IE for firefox.

RENDER was a bad word choice..
sometimes firefox can't show a webpage at ALL,
some pages that i have to log into don't work on firefox either.

so I use avant, which is a safer modified version of IE

And we all know Freak is a porno man, and if he is safer, better, and faster, us less noble lower performing, mental model types will love Firefox.

I have been using both Firefox and Thunderbird for years and will never go back.:coocoo

Firefox here!

Other than security (I work in computer security) I use it for the extensions. There are tons of handy tools you can add on. One extension even allows you to open a page in an IE browser as a tab in the current firefox window.
