yea, quick release fastners works for me. But the bike shop guy here at work calls them "zeus quick release pins", wasn't sure if we were talking about the same thing.

ok, how do you keep them from walking away from your bike in parking lots and the like?

alright, just a wuss I guess, always worried me about quick release pins on the levers, the pegs, guys are doing them on the gas tank bolts, pilot seat bolts,

Just worried about what some klepto would walk off with, just cuz they could.

figure I'm going to leave one or two real threaded fastners in so the plastics can't just be made off with.

Hmmm, threaded fasteners stop thieves? Have to reevaluate my security plans.

not stop, just harder...

Dzus fastners require ZERO tools to remove.... everyone is basically walking around with the needed tool at the end of there arm.

least with threaded fastners they need an allen wrench before they can make off with anything.

the Gixxer I had had quick release pins for the clutch and break levers (before someone figured out to make them with break away balls) so that they could be replaced quickly...

I was kinda nuts about it, I would pull the pins and levers every night, or when I was in a parking lot... Kinda worked as a security system, because you couldn't get the bike to start if the clutch wasn't pulled in.... and with no clutch lever, you couldn't pull it in.

we'll they made off with the entire bike so it didn't really matter I suppose.

once bitten, twice shy as it were.
