As promised! Here is the dynorun roundup!

All the following dynographs is made on the same dynograph 250i with the same proff dynomapper known as the magician from Europe. So they are all compareable! I´ve leanrned (and paid) alot trough this tuning progress

My TL1000s is:

more pics:
http://www.motorcykelgalleri.dk/html/gal_visbil.asp?ID=2250

Red line is my TLS 1997 with
- full akrapovic
- airbox mod with lid off
- KN filter
- TLR bellmouths 1,5cm
- Pair system removed
- IN cams from a TLR EXcam is old TLS IN repressed (Thx to Bernhard!!)
- 00 TLS engine

Blue line is my TLS 1997
- full akrapovic
- airbox mod
- KN filter
- TLR bellmouths 2,5cm
- standard cams and standard 1997 engine

This is a test we made the same day.
its my TLS with same setup, but the 2 runs is made with airbox lid ON/OFF
Setup is
- full akrapovic
- airbox mod with lid ON and OFF
- KN filter
- TLR bellmouths 1,5cm
- Pair system removed
- IN cams from a TLR EXcam is old TLS IN repressed (Thx to Bernhard!!)
- 00 TLS engine

Blue is lid ON
Red is lid OFF

Go for lid OFF. Then u gain 2-3hp/Nm all the way up and not only the 2hp the ramair gives at highspeed.
Just remember to make a filter where the LID were so it wont suck unfiltered air into engine.. It can be done in many different ways

This is my friends SV1000.
- akrapovic slipons
- pipercross filter
- pc3 remap

red is after remap with pc3

next run is my RSVR Mille vs my TLS

My Mille:

more pics:

RED is RSVR mille with setup
- other cams
- airbox modification
- higher compression
- better flow in heads
- full akrapovic
- 56mm throttle bodies
- carbon bellmouths
- pc3 usb map for each cyllinder
all made at a proff engineering comapany. Costet like 3000$ without the akrapovic

Blue is My TLS
- full akrapovic
- airbox mod with lid off
- KN filter
- TLR bellmouths 1,5cm
- Pair system removed
- IN cams from a TLR EXcam is old TLS IN repressed (Thx to Bernhard!!)
- 00 TLS engine

The next dynographs is from another dyno. Its a facory e-997. So theese runs cannot be compared with the runs from the Dynojet250i runs above!

Red is my TLS
- full akrapovic
- airbox mod
- KN filter
- TLR bellmouths 2,5cm
- standard cams and standard 1997 engine

GREEN is a TLR 99
- Joe V airbox mod
- akrapovic exhaust system
- and Teka remap

YELLOW is a SV1000 04
- pipercross
- slipons
- pc3 remap

BLUE is a TLS 1998
- standard airbox with KN
- Slipons
- TEKA remap

Next is a couple of V2 runs!

RED: is a Honda VTR1000F
- slipons
- adjusted

GREEN: Is an aprilia SL falco
- slipons
- chip

YELLOW: Duc 996S
- with slipons

BLUE: My TL1000S old setup
- full akrapovic
- airbox mod
- KN filter
- TLR bellmouths 2,5cm
- standard cams and standard 1997 engine

My TL vs 600ccm and SV1000

Blue is my TL1000s old setup
White is a SV1000
rest i 3 600ccm, a R6, zx636, gsx600r all >2003

Here is my TLS old setup vs 3 GSX1000R :)

Hope U enjoed there reading :)

in the airbox lid runs...you said red is with the lid on and blue is with it off...seems to me you gain more all through the range with it on :O

sweet write-up though. nice to see :thumbup

Í´ve corrected it. I just wrote it wrong! The gain is with lid OFF!!!!
:)

I did some fails because i started to make this thread at tlplanet.com! Then I realized I was on the wrong forum. A couple of copy paste did that i messed the whole thing up! So I´ve been editing this thread like 10 times now! ffs delete tlplanet.com forum! It is only for confusing the users!!!
I hope there aint not other places where I wrote stuff wrong :( :( :(

The topic should also be:
"Dynoruns roundup! TLS-TLR-SV and more"
But I cannot correct that! arghhh

...I wouldn't run your TLS with the air box lid off for very long as its sucking completely unfiltered air in to the motor...

ohh not finished yet :(. It just a big KN filter that i cutted with a scissor. The original filter in the airbox is now siliconed to the box because og the missing lid
There are many ways to do it on! :)

remember if u want a map for each cyllinder the pc3 usb must go back for new software! (unless they have corrected the problem)

thx :)
But i´m selling it :(
selling the bike for more dyno time....hehehe

nice write up and beautifull bikes. i know how dyno time adds up quick...i work with a friend building race cars and without the dyno time you break a lot of stuff....you have spent some serious time and it shows.
i ride my TLR with the lid off because i like the extra growl it gives it. cruising from traffic light to traffic light it is a lot of fun. roaring down the highway people wonder what is making all of that noise expecting a car....anyway

nice toy selection and great write up :hail

I don´t get this lid off thing :confused

seams to me that when U get up to speed the air goes through the tubes and instead of "stopping" in the box it must go right through it and to the bottom of the tank :dunno

Meaning that when U are standing still U will get better numbers on a dyno since it can suck air from tubes and lid but when riding the air from the tubes should push away the air from getting in from the open lid :dunno

Something strange going on after 8K :O

Sort that and you'll have a much healthier top end.

Lasse - keep in mind there is no ram air effect on a dyno. That's one area I might be concerned with... higher speed and the potential problem you point out. At the same time, the airbox pressure would likely not fluctuate as much which might help in some way. At speed you wouldn't build higher pressure from ram air but you also wouldn't drop as low when the engine sucks air into it since you have an additional source of air through the lid.

The only way to test would be some sort of data acquisition with a pressure sensor inside the airbox then make some high speed runs. A good old stop watch for roll-on performance might be telling as well. :O Either way, great revival of an excellent old thread. :thumbup
