Hi
After reading the article by D`Ecosse its become clear that it could do with being up dated, now not having much idea or electrical background it`s become clear that the Shindengen FH012AA has been superseded by the FH020AA , but and even better more updated R/R is the SH847 which is apparently known as a stator saver due to it running a lot cooler due to it only using the coils that are required, well that`s my understanding of it, if any electrical gurus in Admin can have a look at this and perhaps find out which bikes have currently the SH847 fitted as standard it would seem a beneficial upgrade.

Here`s another article, not TL but showing another SH Series type wired in DRZ400 SH775 R/R Upgrade
I believe these are lower rated, maybe 35amp rather than 50 amp, but are more widely accessible second hand but could possibly be ok for TL`s
input from the more tech savvy appreciated here
