So, I have had the desire for a cafe racer for a while, and esp after watching the worlds fastest indian, I have had a lingering thought....

How impossible would it be to put a TL motor in an old cafe racer frame? Or perhaps a SV650 motor?

Not that I don't have enough active projects to keep me going till the end of the year, but hmmm.

Check out a new norton comando 952, suppose to be 14k, but has some nice goodies stock, and looks to die for.

I fell in love with it the moment I saw the picture.

search around for a bicycle maker close, powder coaters. Places that see frames alot. It might be easier to find the body work you like, and design a trellis frame around the TL engine. Probably be alot less hassle too. R/T can be used from a similar bike, and also length, forks and swingarm created to fit whatever wheels you wanted, and size.

I finally saw the new Ducati retros at the Cleveland show, gotta say, Really didn't like them, looks were just ok in person, and not very rider friendly feeling at all.

Here's my future cafe racer...

Thor: those GS450/500's are great. one friend was building his another bike and couldn't get it finished. So he got GS450 real cheap. Drove one summer. Almoust no problems. Great fun.

I test drove that bike. It has nice twin sound with good exhaust and it's really easy to drive.

Maybe the best part is that it's so underpowered that you can wind it up anywhere anytime and blast through all the gears.:hail

Yeah, it is actually a great bike, perfect to learn on, and it does actually have some good zip to it. It is a tank too, you can beat the hell out of them, and they just take it. I will never get rid of it, when I get a new bike, it's getting a complete restoration.

:laugh :laugh :laugh yeah...the underpowered aspect wouldn't exactly be my pick for best part...:laugh :laugh :laugh

For it's size it does actually have some pep, I've smoked it's share of other bikes, off the line it as some good pick up, but in the long haul it can be a dog, tops out at 115.

I am SOOOOOO ready for a new bike, but she will always be my baby. I'm just gonna make her look different, you know, like askin your wife to wear a wig. :devious :devious

Yep, indeed it is a 650 SS. He has the big valves modification on it, and for a 1964 bike, its bloody fast!
