3rd day riding the beast :D

Soooooo glad I didnt sell it & bought a new Z1000~!!!
This bike is just so much fun & still comfortable as hell!
More so when my body gets used to riding again (3 years since I did so on a regular basis)
& back when I did ride normally, it was before I was walking 10+ miles a day~!!
So I literally Couldnt ride Tuesday.
Was sore as hell, & maybe hauling ass to get done in 8 hours on my route on a Heavy mail day on Monday to ride more didnt help either! :laugh

But I rode past a 14+ Z1000 today too.
I honestly wasnt at all impressed by it compared to videos & pics.
Actually, the bike looked quite... PUNY! (no it wasnt the Z800 or whatever the other one is, it was the Z1000)

Trimmed the oil catcher bottom hose a little bit (what a B!TCH without removing anything!!!!!!!)
Leaking still but even less then before.
Also noticed a few drops of coolant on the ground when I got home from work too. (same area)

Off tomorrow & friday.
So I will ride tomorrow, take my dad to the eye doctors & then ride some more :D
Since its not going to rain "all of a sudden"

Friday I will remove the airbox & have some room to Really see whats going on.
Would be nice if the top hose simply unplugged from the airbox.

Had two incidents today tho.
Broke the rear middle mount of the rear hump. (part that goes into the brake light area)
Not exactly sure how that happened.
Was a clean break, so I am gorilla gluing it now.
Just putting layers upon layers of it, because thats all I have right now.
That sh!ts some damn good glue tho!!!!

& when I got home, I noticed my Rectifier just Dangling there!!!
Must have happened omw home for the night.

I probably just didnt tighten the bolts down good enough.

All good as I have it mounted damn well now.

& some bike porn at my usual relaxing spot.

& more videos, but nothing important really.

Still working on getting a mic that will work with my contour.

I did 250 miles in a morning last week on mine and was fresh as a daisy when I got off. These are seriously comfortable machines, atleast mine is with renthals :laugh

I did several rides on my Hayabusa with 250+ miles. But that was 15 years ago and I'm not quite in as good of shape as I was back then. With my TLR, I'm about wore out after my 45 minute commute to work.
However, I am taller (6'4") and the 80mph stuff takes a lot out of me. I could probably do a lot more miles cruising around 50-60mph. Suzuki is by far the most comfortable of the sports bikes IMHO.

I've had both, and honestly... I loved my Z1000. But it was a brand new bike and I had NO mechanical issues like I have with this TLR. However, mechanical stuff aside... the TLR is definitely a much more enjoyable ride!!

Well, some good news earlier.
Been emailing with Penndot (dept of transp.)
They called me earlier & let me know that they found my personalized plate & mailed it out.

Now I wonder how much it will cost to transfer it Back to my bike!
If I have to renew the registration AGAIN with the new plate at $52.
Then I will just wait until next year when the reg needs renewing.

Rained out the ass all day until the afternoon.
Then went for a ride.

Came to the conclusion that bar ends are NOT good at all with clip ons!!
As I suspected, I simply have to look too far down.

So after work tomorrow, im removing them & putting the regular mirrors back on.

& the left side is still leaking oil a little bit.
100% sure its not the oil catcher hoses.

As I took the airbox off & made sure its nice & snug!

So its probably the stator cover from swapping out the bolts one by one for those sh!tty red ones!

Luckily I have an extra gasket & I will put the stock bolts back in.

Well :D
Got my personalized plate back on Weds.
I Assume they switched it back over for me, since I bought a new plate prior.
Because they included a new registration paper showing my personalized plate & even put the sticker on it for me :D

Put the stock mirrors back on & rode around on Weds.
Stock mirrors are 100X better then the bar end mirrors I had on~!!!!!

Never had the chance to compare.
My GS500 had handlebars, so the mirrors were even more in the way vs mirrors on the sides of the windscreen.
Super magna was a cruiser & all the mirrors I had on that sucked!
96 gsxr 1100 had these type of but didnt have the bike long enough to compare.

View is clearer, more accurate in sight & distance view.

Bike is still fun & comfy as hell~!
Only problem is that its a pain in the @$$ at low speeds!
Because this bike wants to GOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Only my shoulders have been sore from the lack of riding for 3 freakin years!!!!!

Off until Monday.
Tomorrow is payday & clear blue sunshiny skies all day for riding!!!!
Saturday, possible showers but most likely riding down to the On the Bike part of my wifes motorcycle safety course.
Same for Sunday.

Still uploading riding videos.
but without a working mic yet, rather boring.
Videos would be alot better hearing my potty mouth on other drivers! hahahaha

Wife did good on her On the bike training course today.
Especially since she NEVER rode a bike until today.
Only thing she needs to work on is, Smoothness!
Clutch & Throttle to be specific.

Will need to drill it into her brain even more before she leaves tomorrow for the final day.
Because thats when they get into maneuvering & not just learning how to start, accel, decel, brake & stop.

& the ride home got me worried.
Really opened her up on a small stretch of highway.
After that I started to hear a Rattling noise from below or below & behind me everytime I used the throttle.

Sounds like my license plate rattling as it is loosely fitted.
or rather, I had to open the top two mounting holes in the plate up a little bit on one of the previous bikes.
So the reflector bolts are tight as hell, but still a little room for the plate to rattle.

Nothing made a sound until after that one stint opening her up tho.

Hoping its just the plate.
As when I got home, noticed more oil leaking on the left side.
this time from somewhere in the rear of the stator cover (between the stator & sprocket cover)

Since I found the extra stator cover gasket in my trunk that I totally forgot about.
I will remove the stator cover & sprocket cover tomorrow to inspect.

As I wont be watching the wife at the training course again.
She was too distracted by me & kept looking over at me & I had to tell her about it (watching where you are going at 100% all times is Crucial in that course!)
that & my 2 yr old son drove my dad NUTS! hahahahahahahahaha

& one hopeful bit.
after I left the bike sit for a few minutes, taking the kids in & gear.
I started it back up (still warm but settled down) & it didnt make the sound again.

& I also got into my first accident on the bike today.
T boned to be specific.

lil screwball was flying with its friends & flew right into the side of the bike!
looked back in the mirror & seen em on the ground & pulled a U turn.

stayed with em for like 10 minutes.
def hurt & wasnt just stunned but nothing Bad.

Left em for 2 hours & got the wifes car & loaded the little guy up to bring home until its better & will set free :D

heres the little booger!
was trying to be vague & make ya think, wtf!!!

luckily I have two bird cages.
so the birdie is chillin in its own cage looking quite content until its well enough to be set free.

Well, one Really big scare avoided!!!! :banana

Since it started making that sound Right after opening her up pretty good, I got Really scared that it was an internal engine problem!

New stator cover gasket on & oem bolts again.
All of the oil leaks should be taken care of!

& hoping the wife comes home happy passing the safety course today :D

I felt your relief when you realised you bike wasn't about to grenade itself.;

Its a good feeling.. I was there with you.

I had similar thoughts when sorting my water pump.
