I recieved a Barnett clutch kit for an early christmas gift from a friend. It came without a new gasket. What type of gaskets will I need, & how many plates should it have? thx to all & merry christmas
Depends if you have a 5 spring, or six spring, you need to get a service manual and then measure each plate for thickness, most folks haven't had the best of luck with Barnett plates, however their springs are great. The OEM plates work best. The 6 spring clutches have up to 10 plates by the 2002 TLR model. Also one plate is different than the others, so get a service manual and measure them to be sure.:coocoo
You shouldn't need any gaskets and you can do it on the sidestand. The springs torque to 7.0 ft-lbs and the cover bolts torque to 8.0 ft-lbs.
