I'm buying a '97 TLS in the near future.

I just read on Wikipedia that Suzuki addressed "handling" issues by recalling '97's and adding a steering damper AND replacing the ECU with a '98 model ECU.

Since this bike has a steering damper it looks like the original owner may have had the recall work completed - but is there a way to see if the ECU is the original '97 version or a later version?

Having owned a '01 TLR, this TLS engine revs MUCH easier in neutral than did the R somewhat suggesting same affects of a lighter flywheel weight or that it still has its original ECU.

Just want to know if there is a way to tell.
