Love the truck, slowly working out the kinks in it. Body not perfect by any means but its a truck and I bought it so I can get a camper /haul so we can stay in while at the races.
Right now we stray in a hotel or in most cases a tent.

Get's about 13mpg hauling the bike but once I toss a camper behind it it will get probably 9-10MPH.

It has an 8 foot bed, tool box, came with 305/75/16 wheels and tires. Speedo has been changed for larger tires. Truck is a Silverado 2500HD.

Time will tell if I got a good deal. I gave $6800.00 for it.

I've put about 500 miles on it so far.

Show us a pic of the beast. Leave the kinks in it ... They give it a patina and oodles of street credibility. :)
My dad has a 03 (I think) 1500HD with the 6.0L. It pretty much gets 14mpg all the time. Towing a 1949 Dodge Coronet on a Uhaul trailer it was getting about 11mpg. His is all stock though.
Cool, those are good trucks. Definitely need pics!
Jesus, must be a huge bloody camper if you only going to get 10mph out of the van when towing!!!
How cool is that bad boy. It's bigger than the freakin house! :)
Great truck! Like to own one but...

1900 euro's or 2300 dollars a year road-tax over here.
Sales price for a 150.000mi 2007 about 15000 eur, $18000
And govt. tells us we're not being ripped.
Didn't even mention fuel.
Looks sweet :thumbup

Wow that absurd. How do u afford to live over there?
I filled my truck up the other day just under 10mpg, city driving under 300 miles on the tank truck needed 29 gallons to fill it cost $90.00 plus some change at $3.0899 per gallon

hoping I can get the same pulling the camper
City driving in cold weather does make for terrible mileage. If the camper isn't too big I think you'll get that pulling for a distance on the highway in decent weather.
I drove 1000 ks yesterday. ( 600miles )

I got 34mpg at 60 to 70 mph.

fuel is $1.65 litre $7.40 gallon

$3 a gallon is a dream.

buy an IVECO turbo daily and enjoy the benefits!!!!

it will haul ever bit as much as your truck
Don't think we get those here. The plus of a full size truck like Dell's is that they are really comfortable, nice driving things. Sort of a luxury car (almost) that can haul and go off road.
Well, when it comes to gas this truck drinks it like a German does achohol. I love it and its been doing a good job so far. She gets about 8MPG fully loaded with the camper and bikes, and all the other stuff. We went to Bristol VA a few races back and the truck pulling over the mountains got around 7MPG. Trip cost in fuel was roughly $250.00

To help lift the burden of fuel I fill it up a week or two before I pull so it has nearly a full tank. That way I forget how much it's really costing me in fuel for the short run but trustme, my checking account does not forget.
