Air box question

Just a minor detail.

Do we actually need the flange covered by a cap on the front of the airbox for anything on the TLS ?

I have tided up the front wiring loom for the controls and hid alot of it in front of the airbox. that piece gets in the way when refitting the box. I would like to cut it off and seal it.

That tube connection point is the "fresh air" intake port for the PAIR system on US models (not sure if other countries use the PAIR system). It can be removed and plugged.

While you are in the mode of modifying the air box, you should investigate the "flapper valve" removal mod.

That photo was from google images. I have done the flapper valve mod ect...
What type of plastic is this ? ABS ?. I was pondering about buying a plastic welder for this type of thing.
