A CBR 900RR a few times... The tire circumference usually ends up being close to the same size as the 17" rim and tire. I think they used a 130/70-16 on the CBR 900RR of fireblade to you guys... Are you trying to get a quicker turn in for cornering?
Check on tire selection, I'm not sure there's a whole lot available. Also, it seems most blade guys try to switch to 17" wheels - might be a reason for that. I've no direct experience.
If you want the 6 spoke wheel in a 17" I would look at RC-51 front wheels. The bearing size is different along with rotor spacing. Are you trying to get the marchesini look on a budget?
Almost all modern sport bikes have 17" front wheels and any from an SRAD era GSXR, TLS, TLR or 'busa will be a direct bolt on IIRC. I've never found them hard to find - I picked up a set of GSXR wheels for my TLS 'cause I wanted a 5.5" rear and it was easier to get a matching front so the colors were the same. I just gave my stockers to another TLZ member.
Well if you want the multi spoke design you could always buy some marchesini rims... I know thy are expensive but if you buy them one at a time they cost less than the pair would... You can get some good deals if the seller on eBay doesn't know what they fit and you do...
Also consider the rotor bolt pattern and availability (let alone actually fitting rotor and caliper spacing)...They have that wide 6mm six bolt pattern IIRC.
Are you saying that you can't even find a std front wheel for your bike?
