On St valentines day Reet and I hired a toy boat and made our way across Lake Cootharaba. to the noosa river everglades.

here is the national park station at the entrance .

this is the entrance on the left.



Looking back across the lake.

the upstream landing..

This is Harry's hut. Harry was a logger and his hut is behind the bush on this landing. we go upstream another 200yards to the lunch area.



While we have lunch this chap dropped by to beg some tucker

The river is stained the colour of strong tea by the bark from the trees along its bank.

This dark colour combined withthe almost glass smooth surface results in the most amazing reflections. sometimes you have difficulty seeing the waterline. some pictures look like they are upside down!!

cheers guys Its really only an hour or so from home to the lake.

gotta get the whole zone to move to SE Qld eh!!

Reets got a unit she rents out in Noosa if anyone wants to holiday up here.

we stayed there for the weekend and its only 15min to the lake:thumbup

Its managed by a company but we are looking at ways of making available to friends etc. (maybe a cash back deal )

Great pics:clap The FL everglades water is also brown for the same reason.

Muzza there is camping. you carry everything in you need and take everything back out again . inc rubbish ( unlike the grand canyon you can leave your poo behind :laugh) no fires tho but little gas stoves are ok.
