spun a bearing by the sound of it of my 97.

many years since active here, - whats the current state of play, use a SV crank/rods? any years I need to avoid?

quick update, caught one side shells as they went to copper. Lucky the crank was fine, so polished and plastiguaged to 0.042. with 80psi cold ( inaccurate gauge)

But always a reason and found a small (5mm) piece of flattened alu? stuck in the head that side! No idea know how could have got there. I Last rebuilt 30k ago, and K&N last cleaned about 10k ago. Not holed/ loose? Anyway, assume that stress took that one bearing out. Everything else in excellent shape (66,000miles)
