To think that I thought £2 - 2500 was silly money for a "project" square case bevel drive :O All I really want is an engine and frame .........

Late to the party as usual.

You right for shipping with the forks Les? I'd store them for you (and not even relist them with a higher BIN price). Long, long weekend here, I could even pick them up in a pinch if needed.

The sort of prices that the round case stuff is making must start making it feasable to produce new casting moulds :O

You would have to wonder Sam.
The only source now is if someone parts out a bike that has never been down the road.
The guy selling these parts is probably the world authority on Beveldrives.

My NOS fork legs turned up complete with the price still on them from the original purchase 25 years ago,a little over AU$100 back then for the pair, cheap at $420. :laugh
I payed AU$1700 for mint front and rear cylinders,a front cylinder head and light switch a couple of years ago, dear at the time, profitable now but never for sale.

It is sitting in a dark lock up back home with everything else. but will scour Australia for the rest of the parts i need. (You just reminded me one year is up so need to pay another year ahead on the storage,a year already in Oz :dowhat

GT's might be worth more in parts but the value is increasing compared to some others.
There is one on Ebay every now and again but not this week.

This will probably got for $40000+

Over here an absolutely original California import roundcase 750GT sold for circa £6500 earlier in the year. I shudder to think of the cost of a roundcase SS :banghead

A square case SS could be up to £10k, MHR similar, a Darmah £3500 - £5k, and 860/900GTS similar to Darmah's .....

I have been looking for a "project" bike for a while now, though have come to accept that at present I do not have the money ...... even rough bangers needing work (and mechanical work can get expensive quickly) are fetching £2.5k plus ... :banghead:banghead

All I want is a frame, motor, and carbs .... :bawling (oh, and an MHR tank and seat :laugh:laugh)

There is a ton of stuff to bid on this week from 1960 Husky parts (There is a 68 MF360 for sale in AU for $9900) to Kawasaki H2 parts
,a mint 74 seat is on,i need one for my own B model,how much for rust free unobtainium :O $300 / $400 / $500/ $600 :laugh
Not to mention a solid GT front brake rotor is coming up soon :devious the last one, a couple of years back went for $500 +

All I want is a frame, motor, and carbs .... :bawling (oh, and an MHR tank and seat :laugh:laugh)

Perhaps (hopefully :coocoo :banghead ) the global downturn might have an impact on prices ......... they really are becoming quite crazy in some cases :coocoo

Doug, I think you might not be wrong ....... :)

That's happening here in the car market to some extent anyhow. I just wish I'd have had some money back in the early 80's when I got out of college. This stuff was dirt cheap and few people wanted it. I still remember having to walk away from an early 50's Harley for $700.:banghead
